Weakness?


Why is it that Love is viewed by so many people as a 'weak' or 'inferior' emotion?
Is HATE really stronger?
or more consuming?
Doesn't it seem like the taint of xtianity that has sullied love? Equating it with masochistic self-abandonment.
To give yourself up to someone fully, to ignore logic and surrender completely. That takes courage. To lose all restraint and allow yourself to Love someone is like leaping off of a cliff, hoping that you don't get smashed on the rocks below.
I'm lucky. I Love my partner very much, and she loves me. And because of this I feel stronger. I am stronger. We each give something of ourselves, and that's the scary part. The fear that you'll be reduced somehow, vulnerable as you lay yourself wide open.
But no, instead I find that by connecting in this way, I become more. Not just in the happy, fixed grin on face 'I'm in lurve' way. But stronger, both physically and mentally.
They say that no-one gets a cold the first few days after they fall in love. I can believe it. It's a formidable defence against hexes and cold sores! It adds balance to your life, especially useful since it seems that many Satanists are prone to misanthropic viewpoints.
